Winthrop is situated nicely at the North End of this glacial valley that makes up the Methow, giving residents easy access to many popular activities. We are home to Methow Trails, a non-profit organization that maintains trails in and around Winthrop, and hosts outdoor activities and events. Just up the road sits the Winthrop Ice Rink, an outdoor rink whose mission is to build the community through the joy of outdoor skating.

If outdoor activity isn’t your main concern, there is plenty of relaxing things to do in Winthrop as well, including the recently opened Barnyard Cinema, a movie theater situated across from East 20 Pizza. There is also a lovely spa at the North end of town, The Nectar Bar.

So whether you’re interested in fishing in the Methow River, or enjoying a relaxing brunch at the Arrowleaf Bistro, there is an option out there for you--and for your kids too. Winthrop is home to many kid-friendly parks and trails, and is proudly known for having an excellent school system. This includes Liberty Bell Junior-Senior High School. Located just outside of Winthrop, Liberty Bell is an award-winning junior high and high school that prides itself on students development, character, and well being.
